Camp Description:

Explore the fascinating world of wildlife through art in this immersive course designed for young creatives. In the Global Wildlife Art and Ecology Studio, students will not only learn to draw and paint animals from around the globe but also create detailed dioramas of their natural habitats and craft three-dimensional models using sculpture, sewing, and felting techniques. This course blends artistic skill development with ecological education, offering a holistic approach to learning about animals and their environments.

Session Structure:

  • Wildlife Drawing and Painting: Learn fundamental drawing and painting techniques focused on accurately depicting various animals. Explore different artistic styles to express the unique characteristics of each species.
  • Habitat Dioramas: Each session includes building a diorama that represents different habitats, such as tropical rainforests, arctic zones, or desert landscapes, using a mix of natural and crafted materials.
  • Animal Model Making: Engage in hands-on activities like sculpting with clay, sewing fabric animals, or felting to create lifelike or stylized models of the animals studied.
  • Ecological Context and Conservation: Integrate lessons on the ecological roles of animals and the importance of conservation, encouraging a deeper understanding and respect for biodiversity.

Materials Provided:
