Course Outcomes for Students - 

  • Acquire a solid understanding of the properties and versatility of acrylic paints, including the selection of appropriate tools, mediums, and surfaces for acrylic painting.
  • Master the principles of color theory, applying these concepts to develop a personalized color palette and enhance the emotional and visual impact of paintings.
  • Explore and apply different brushwork techniques to create a variety of textures and expressive marks, understanding how these techniques contribute to the depth and dynamism of artworks.
  • Understand the fundamentals of composition and design, learning to arrange elements within a painting to create compelling visual narratives and improve overall visual impact.
  • Participate in a community of learners, sharing experiences and feedback, to foster a supportive environment for artistic development.

Requirements - A curious and interested mind, no experience is necessary for this course.  

Materials - All regular course materials are included, though students may receive lists of supplies if they would like to practice at home after the course ends. We do provide a sketchbook for students, but students are welcome to bring their own if they choose.
