Description

An introduction to watercolor practices!

In this week-long class, students ages 6-12 learn different techniques and practices of watercolor painting!  Together we create what we call "postcards" of different techniques, gain familiarity, and then move into more complex ideas and work.  This is both a process-based and product based class, where students make work simply to explore the medium, and also make work that they can take home and frame!  Students are truly proud of the work created in this course!

Students can expect to

  • understand different brushes and paper for watercolor painting
  • make a variety of technique postcards and work to remember for later
  • gain inspiration from many watercolor illustration and fine artists
  • explore colors and how to blend
  • make many beautiful works to be proud of!

Skill Level:

Beginner to our artistic friends who have had more experience.  We recommend that students arrive ready to explore and create! Bring your imagination!

Materials:

All materials and snacks are included in this course. We do recommend that students bring a water bottle labeled with their name.
