In this intensive six-week course, teens will explore the foundational elements of perspective and composition in visual art. From one-point to three-point perspective and from the rule of thirds to the golden ratio, students will deepen their understanding through hands-on projects. The class structure incorporates two extended projects, each spanning two weeks, to allow for deeper engagement and mastery.
Course Outcomes for Elementary Students -
Demonstrate proficiency in one-point, two-point, and three-point perspective.
Apply compositional rules like the Rule of Thirds and the Golden Ratio in their artwork.
Show an understanding of framing and cropping to improve composition.
Successfully complete two extended projects that integrate learned techniques.
Develop the ability to give and receive constructive feedback during peer reviews.
Gain enhanced visual literacy skills, enabling them to better analyze and understand artwork.
Requirements -
A curious and interested mind, no experience is necessary for this course.
Materials -
All regular course materials are included, though students may receive lists of supplies if they would like to practice at home after the course ends.
