Painting for Personal Expression aims to guide adult learners in exploring painting as a form of personal and emotional expression. Whether you are completely new to painting or are a professional artist seeking to find or further define your style, this course offers an engaging, hands-on learning experience. You'll explore a variety of painting techniques and materials while focusing on self-expression and honing in on your personal style.
Course Outcomes for Students -
Mastery of Basic Techniques: Students will gain a comprehensive understanding of basic painting techniques, including impasto, scumbling, and glazing.
Emotional Expression: Students will develop the skill to use color and composition to express specific emotions or narratives in their work.
Personal Style Development: By the end of the course, students will have started to develop their own unique painting style, informed by their personal interests and emotional focus.
Critical Evaluation: Students will develop the ability to critique their own work and that of others, focusing on both technical execution and emotional impact.
Expanded Artistic Vocabulary: Students will learn and effectively use new artistic and technical vocabulary relevant to painting.

Requirements - A curious and interested mind, no experience is necessary for this course.
Materials - All regular course materials are included, though students may receive lists of supplies if they would like to practice at home after the course ends.
