Description

The Crafting Miniature Worlds class is a four-week exploration into the realm of diorama sculpture. Students aged 6-12 will be introduced to the techniques, materials, and design elements essential to crafting miniature worlds. They will engage in hands-on activities, creative projects, and group discussions to create a series of dioramas that tell stories or convey themes.

Course Outcomes for Elementary Students - 

  • Basic sculpture techniques
  • Design and layout of a diorama
  • Storytelling through visual elements
  • Working with various materials
  • Understanding of scale and proportion

Requirements - 
A curious and interested mind, no experience is necessary for this course.  

Materials - 
All course materials are included, though students may bring shoeboxes, or other materials if they'd like to share it in their work.  Students may also receive lists of supplies if they would like to practice at home after the course ends.
