Description

Explore and practice elements of charcoal drawing!

In this class, we will explore and practice elements of charcoal drawing.  

In this very interactive class, we will begin each session with warm-ups to get a feel for the materials, then move into longer work with objects, a simple landscape, and ending with a basic portrait. 

Course Outcomes - 
You will learn basic techniques and skills of charcoal, gaining a better understanding and control of the medium
You will layer and build up values, then move into using highlights in a variety of ways
You will gain confidence in your charcoal and drawing skills 
You will finish 2-3 small pieces

Requirements - 
A curious and interested mind, no experience is necessary for this course.  

Materials - 
All course materials are included, though students may receive lists of supplies if they would like to practice at home after the course ends.
