Watercolor Basics and Techniques

This course introduces young students to the captivating world of watercolor painting, focusing on basic skills and creative techniques. Over the course of four weeks, participants will learn how to handle watercolor paints and explore various methods such as wet-on-wet, dry brush, and layering. Each session will guide students through the processes of mixing colors, controlling water flow, and creating effects that can add depth and emotion to their paintings. The class will cover essential concepts such as color theory, composition, and the use of light and shadow. Course Outcomes for Elementary Students - 

• Mastery of Watercolor Techniques: Students will learn foundational watercolor techniques such as wet-on-wet, dry brush, and layering. They will understand how to manipulate these methods to create different effects in their artwork.

A curious and interested mind, no experience is necessary for this course.  

Materials - 
All regular course materials are included, though students may receive lists of supplies if they would like to practice at home after the course ends.
