Description

Still Life in Watercolors is a comprehensive course designed for teens interested in mastering the art of watercolor painting through the timeless subject of still life. Over six weeks, students will explore the techniques and skills necessary to create vibrant and lifelike still life compositions. The course will cover essential watercolor techniques such as washes, glazing, and wet-on-wet, as well as color mixing and composition strategies. Each session will include demonstrations, guided practice, and personalized feedback to help students refine their skills and express their creativity. This class is perfect for young artists looking to develop their watercolor techniques and create beautiful still life paintings.

Course Outcomes for Elementary Students - 

  • Mastery of Watercolor Techniques: Students will learn essential watercolor techniques, including washes, glazing, and wet-on-wet, to create a variety of effects in their paintings.
  • Color Mixing Skills: Participants will develop their ability to mix colors effectively, achieving the desired hues and tones for their still life compositions.
  • Understanding of Composition: The course will teach students how to arrange elements in a still life to create balanced and visually appealing compositions.

Requirements - 
A curious and interested mind, no experience is necessary for this course.  


Materials - 
All regular course materials are included, though students may receive lists of supplies if they would like to practice at home after the course ends.
