Acorn Explorers
Designed for ages 3-4
Acorn Explorers introduces young children to the exciting world of art through sensory-rich, play-based activities. Over each session, students will explore the foundational elements of art and design, such as color, shape, line, texture, and form. Each class begins with a storytime that introduces artistic concepts or famous artists in a way that’s engaging and accessible for young learners.
After storytime, children dive into hands-on projects like painting, drawing, and collage-making. They’ll explore a variety of materials—feeling different textures, mixing colors, and experimenting with shapes—allowing their senses to lead the way. This playful exploration helps children discover art-making as a joyful process of creativity and learning.
Note: this class is three weeks long, as we will not be meeting on Christmas Day.
