Description

Abstract Painting Fundamentals is an exciting course designed to introduce young artists to the world of abstract art. Over four weeks, students will explore the basic principles of abstract painting, learning to express their creativity through color, shape, and texture without relying on realistic representation. The class will cover various techniques and approaches to abstract art, encouraging students to experiment and find their unique artistic voice. Through hands-on projects and guided exercises, participants will gain confidence in using different painting methods and materials to create their own abstract masterpieces. This course is perfect for young artists eager to explore new ways of expressing themselves through art.

Course Outcomes for Elementary Students - 

  • Understanding Abstract Art: Students will learn the fundamental concepts of abstract art, including the use of color, shape, and texture to convey emotions and ideas.
  • Exploration of Techniques: Participants will experiment with various abstract painting techniques, such as layering, blending, and using unconventional tools to create different effects.

Requirements - 
A curious and interested mind, no experience is necessary for this course.  


Materials - 
All regular course materials are included, though students may receive lists of supplies if they would like to practice at home after the course ends.
